Heading off to each of the businesses on Main Street Zoe talks to each of the merchants to see what they know about "Pat Rat Nelson's" murder and "Pack Rat has been seen around town with "Stubby" a one armed man that "Pack Rat" is reluctant to hang around.

Dealing with Zoe's mother-in-law from hell and Zac's crazy family but someone from Zac's crazy family, Nona soon becomes Zoe's ally to help solve the murder before Chief Salinger can.
With characters that keep your wanting to read the next book in this exciting series. Zoe, Zac, Ellie, Levi and the kids and even the animals are treasures to behold and you want and need to know what is going to happen in each of their lives. Conflicts that you hope will result in happy endings. With each new book I have found that I love and care for these characters more and more.

I hope that we see the crazy senior, with the pink Harley from Zac's family, Nona in future books. She certainly brought some excitement and she seemed like a perfect side kick but also Zoe and Nona are like a odd couple of crime fighting but it still seemed like they were the perfect fit together.Highly entertaining with unforgetable and zany characters that seem all too real, a picturesque setting and a fast passed read. I always want to know what trouble Zoe will find herself in next and I admire her heart and determination to solve a murder. To top that all off a wedding that will have your crying tears of joy.

Brooklyn Wainwright is a young book binder who finds herself temporarily hosting segments for book appraising on a show called This Old Attic, while they are taping in San Francisco. She lives with her Security Firm owner boyfriend Derek in a loft with the new addition of a nameless kitten (Don't worry she gets a name by the end of the story). While Brooklyn finds herself enjoying her short live TV gig and making new friends, it comes to light that one of the books she appraised my not have been obtained honestly. This sets off a chain of events that lead to a murder and confusion as not only is Brooklyn dodging this murderer but the host of the show is also being stalked, depending on who's point of view your taking.

His, the host Randolph or his producer telling him he's just paranoid. Soon both cases become so intertwined it is hard to tell which attack is made for whom. As she sets off on her own investigation of the book, instinctively knowing that the murderer must be some how linked to it. Brooklyn starts researching the book and author. With her help of her friend Ian from the Covington Library she is soon in touch with Edward Strathmore who gives her a unique perspective on the original owner of the book. The characters in the book were well written and likable.

I especially liked Alex, Suzie and Vinnie and hope they make more appearances in the future books. And who doesn't love the dodding white knight of a boyfriend Derek but personally I think he should have been teaching his girlfriend some defense moves before a next door neighbor. As for Brooklyn, she seems like a nice friend to have but I personally couldn't relate with her, I'm more of an Alex girl till you get to her WIC but you'll see what I mean. The flow of the story was gradual but it made for a nice dramatic climb to the truth. I liked how the pieces came together and how it was resolved......Especially with Minka! You should also try reading Kate Carlisle's series The Fixer-Upper Mysteries. I love that series, I have read both books and a patiently waiting for a third. That series is the reason why I decided to give this series a try and I wasn't disappointed.

Format: Paperback
Rating: Four Stars

When I opened up this book and saw the "Cast of Characters" I was a little intimidated and fearful. There were were a lot of characters in this story but I also found out as I read on that each of them played a important part in the story. I personally had a hard time keeping the characters straight and some times had to go back to the "Cast of Characters" to see who they were. This book is intergrated with family, friends and with a murderer in the mix it makes this close knit set of characters come together to try to find a killer, it makes all their bonds even more stronger.

The Seaside Knitters, Nell, Cass, Birdie, and Izzy are very excited that Birdie's granddaughter, Gabby is attending the Sea Harbor Community Day School and the Seaside Knitters are  also to teach knitting classes there. Elizabeth Hartley is the headmistress of the school, she is well liked and is trying to do her best for the school and everyone appreciates and looks forward to her efforts except member of the board, Blythe Westerland. Not only did her family once own the mansion that now houses the school but she is making it seems everyone's life a living hell with her bad attitude and bossy ways. She is not happy that the headmistress is employed at the school and does her best to get her fired and also is instermental in getting a teacher, Josh Babson fired.

Blythe Westerland to the shock of the Seaside Knitters is found dead while attending a party for the school. It seems that Blythe had a lot of enemies along the way and almost everyone had a reason to want her dead in including fired teacher, Josh Babson. The Seaside knitters along with the rest of Seaside Harbor come together to help find a murderer. With headmistress, Elizabeth Hartley as the main suspect, Police Chief, Jerry Thompson is trying his hardest to find the real killer so he don't see his friend pay for a crime she could have never commited.

Beautifully written and descriptive, like a much needed vacation to the Seaside. A Finely Knit Murder mixes family, friends, knitting, great food and murder perfectly. I love reading knitting cozies because of my desire to want to learn how to knit but more than that to discover new characters and mysteries and this book had no shortage of characters to get to know and love with an intriguing mystery that kept me reading despite my not being able to follow who all the characters were at times. It was as the title says, "A finely Knit Murder.".

Book Review/Giveaway Some Like it Witchy by Heather Blake

Title: Some Like it Witchy
Author: Heather Blake
Series: Book 5 A Wishcraft Mystery
Publisher: Obsidian Mystery
Format:Paperback
Source: Received for review from Publisher
Rating: Five Stars
Reviewed by: Tina

" A dream is a wish your heart makes..." A quote from song from the movie, Cinderella but it's a quote I thought of when reading Some like it Witchy. Both the song and this book leave you with a magical and mystical feeling. Wishcrafter Darcy's heart in this story has wishes of her own but will fate help her realize her own wishes instead of being busy granting everyone else's wishes at her aunt Ve's business  "As you Wish" but aunt Ve is busy running for village councilwoman. Again this was a book I went into with mixed feelings because I don't usually read books with magic or mystical elements but I was mesmerized and spellbound by the story and the characters.

The Enchanted Village's oldest home The Tavistock house goes on the market for sale. Darcy secretly wishes the house was hers despite the fact that it's falling apart. Darcy's companion and curecrafter, Cherise has put in a bid on the home hoping to win it. Cherise is dying to own the home and while checking out the house Darcy and Cherise come across the body of Raina Gallagher, the real estate agent for the home. A discovery made while Darcy stepped into her blood. In Raina's clutches is a fertility amulet. With powers of blessing it's holder with children. On the wall above Raina is a large red a written with Raina's hand in her own blood.

The Enchanted Village is full of crafters with many many secrets and even the Tavistock home has a few secrets of it's own locked within its walls (secret diamonds supposely hidden within its walls). Darcy Gets roped into by the powerful Elder of the village to investigate  the murder, a task that Darcy knows all too well and does not mind taking on along with her boyfriend, Nick, the police chief. This is a situation that Darcy cannot wish her way out of she is determined to find a killer that has a death wish.

A mystical cast of characters that I know will have me reading previous books in this series. This was my first venture into The Enchanted Village that I never wanted to leave. At first it was difficult for me to understand what a Elder was and what the crafters could do with their powers but all was revealed as I read on and it became clear to me. Some like it Witchy made me wish I could hold these powers and be able to  make wishes and grant them too to deserving people. I hope in future book or previous books to discover more about Terry, being a Elvis fan I'm very much fascinated with him.  This book is filled with witty charm, entertainment and mystique and humor and is a delight to this reader.

Book Review/Giveaway Don't Go Home By Carolyn Hart

Title: Don't Go Home
Author: Carolyn Hart
Series: Book 25 Death on Demand
Publisher: Berkley
Source: Received for Review from Publisher
Format: Hard Cover
Genre: Mystery
Rating: Five Stars
Reviewed by: Tina

I honestly went into this book with mixed feelings. I knew it was not going to be a typical cozy mystery that I was used to but something about the synopsis drew me in. To say that I was captivated from the very start would be an understatement. Don't go home is what is called a "traditional mystery". The characters especially Annie and Max had me from the very start, they tugged on my heart strings and just would not let go.

Annie owns Death on Demand , a mystery bookstore. She is asked by best selling author Alex Griffith's wife, Rae to host a book reading and party at the Seaside Inn Annie accepts until she reads an article in the Broward's Rock Gazette. in it Alex says that at this party he is going to reveal the inspiration and the people behind his characters in his current best selling book Don't Go Home.
Who just all happen to live on Broward's Rock Alex's former home town.

Everyone is to attend but with fear and apprehension of what Alex has to say and about whom. Annie's friend, Marion gets into a intense argument with Alex before Alex is found murdered in his hotel room. Even after Annie's husband, Max who is away on a trip warns her to stop being a sleuth . Annie can't help but being drawn in since she is Marion's friend and does not want to see her go to prison. Everyone that was the inspiration in the book had a reason to want Alex dead and Annie wants to make sure the right person is brought to justice.

Beautifully descriptive and truly captivating. Soulful, deep and enchanting with no escape until you look up from reading the book. A hypnotizing story with  complex, and riveting characters. So many secrets and lies they are sometimes hard to keep straight. Annie and Max's love story is a haunting tale to be told. This was the first book in this series I read and I was not disappointed and I will be sure to read more in this enchanting series

I knew when I was finished reading Ming Tea Murder I desperately missed these characters. In a way I am glad this is the first book in this series I read because now I can go back and read the previous books and reunite myself with these characters once again. Indigo Tea Shop is where I know I want to be being a tea drinker. Characters like these don't come around to often. Theodosia runs the tea shop, in her employ is Drayton, the tea master and Holly the chef. Theodosia's boyfriend, Max is the Head of PR at the Gibbes Museum. Theodosia is invited to a black tie event  Max is spearheading of an exhibit of a genuine eighteenth century Chinese Tea House.

The most rich, and established elite of Charleston society is to be attending the event. The guests are serenaded by a Chinese violin, a Chinese dragon dancing and flowing in time with the wind. Treated to the tastiest horderves. To add a sense of whimsy to the event Max has arranged for a photo booth so the guests may capture the moment with a photo. Theodosia would rather be anywhere but a black tie event but she goes in support of her boyfriend and the Chinese tea house only to uncover a grissly disovery of museum donor, Edgar Webster dead, slumped over inside the photo booth. The cause of death a sharp instrument jabbed in his ear.

Theodosia becomes determined when Max become a suspect to clear his name. Starting a investigation of her own as to who could have killed Edgar as it becomes known that good time Edgar has had an affair on his wife and has many secrets of his own and soon suspects start pilling up.His wife may want him dead for betraying her, his mistress may want him dead for wanting payment after they broke up for a business deal. The posibilities seem endless but Theodosia makes it her duty to bring this killer to justice before the love of Theodosia's life becomes as steeped as her tea.

Theodosia has spunk is feisty and is bound and determined they are the characteristics that describe her. I see her as a fighter, a strong willed woman and ameteur sleuth and she is not afraid to show it. I knew I liked her from the first page I loved these characters that's why I want to go back and read to get to know them more. The atmosphere of the tea room with these characters are a match made in heaven. They all seemed to click together and I felt like I knew them forever and it kept me wanting to read. This was well written and very entertaining and action packed mystery. Be sure not to miss Ming Tea Murder and don't forget to enjoy some tea while reading.

There's no denying that I am the biggest fan of Murder, She Wrote and culinary mysteries. When I heard about Killer in the Kitchen I was very excited that my two favorite elements would come together. Murder, She Wrote and a foodie mystery. The Fin & Claw Restaurant is Brad and Marcie Fowler's dream. So they decide with the financial help of Brad's mother and a dear friend to mystery writer and Cabot Cove resident Jessica, Isabelle to open the restaurant in Cabot Cove, Maine. Barreling into town is Chef Gerard Leboeuf who has a summer home in Cabot cove and is a famous chef in New York City.

Chef LeBoeuf is to open a French restaurant in Cabot Cove right next to The Fin & Claw in direct competition with them. It worries Marcie what the fate of their restaurant will be with Chef LeBoeuf's renovated warehouse restaurant right next door.Jessica has a brief history with Chef LeBoeuf, she interviewed him for research for her latest mystery she was writing in New York City  At the opening night at The Fin & Claw Chef Brad and  Chef LeBoeuf get into a heated showdown and Chef LeBoeuf waltzes out with his entourage with Jessica and the whole of Cabot Cove looking on. Inside the kitchen of Chef LeBoeuf, the famed chef is found stabbed to death . It's only natural that Brad becomes a suspect but with Chef LeBoeuf's arrogant personality and shady dealings with his restaurant crew someone else could possibly be the killer and Jessica makes it her mission to find out.

Jessica's soft spoken presence and she has a way about her when it comes to solving crime. She does a great job at not making it look like she's not interfering in other people's business. She always solves the crime before Sheriff Mort. Jessica is my very favorite ameteur sleuth of all time. This series will stand the test of time and Killer in the Kitchen was highly entertaining with the narration of Sandra Burr, she had the Maine accents of Dr Seth Hazlitt down to a tee and they were very pleasurable and humorous to listen too. Waiting to find out who Chef LeBeouf's killer was had me on the edge of my seat. Being anyone could have done it it was just which one of them actually did it. Murder, She Wrote Killer in the Kitchen is a perfect mystery for foodie mystery fans and for fans of Mrs Fletcher, mystery writer and ameteur sleuth of Cabot Cove, Maine.

Joyeux Winery is a small but successful winery that has come under new management, Penelope (Penny) Lively has recently inherited it from her Aunt Monique who has passed away. Penny is in her mid thirties, single with a Maltese named Nanook and cat named Syrah (funny I didn't realize at first that this is also a vintage of wine) and quite the independent streak. She was once a photojournalist but due to ethical differences with her editor chose to leave that behind and focus on her family's winery with her niece Hayley and her manager Conner, as well as taking photos of landscapes. The adjoining winery to hers, Martinelli Winery, is one of the largest in the region and is owned by one of the most influential  families in the area and has a matriarch to go with it.

Antonia Martinelli soon asks Penny for help in discovering who is sabotaging  her winery. Penny feeling obligated as Antonia helped her aunt near the end, accepts. As the Autumn Festival approaches it is imperative that this mystery is solved to ensure the most optimal exposure for Martinelli Wines. As Penny tries to maneuver her investigation into the sabotage she comes across a multitude of sins in this small community of Cypress Cove. From finding the body of a young up and comer at Martinelli Wineries to Infidelity to theft to coveted secrets and much more. Soon she finds herself in the crossfires of a murderer and a family that may just be as dangerous to her well being.

I really enjoyed Penny, I liked her independence and her attitude. I could relate to her on many levels. As for Antonia she reminds me of my grandmother, head of the family and it's her way or no way and seems oblivious to others opinions or cares but she is aware of the norms of social etiquette but chooses not to follow them. That's my grandmother. Francesca, she is unbelievable, you'll see. I really like the cast of characters including Russ and Thomas and Veronica. They were all well written. The story itsself is out of the norm for me. I know nothing about nor do I drink wine but I was interested in the Penny character and wondered what adjustments one would have to make in life from being a professional in the big city to a small town business owner. What I found was much much more. The story was well written and plotted out and kept me guessing.

It's time for another adventure starring a lie detecting cat named, Elvis who had my heart from the beginning just because of his name. In North Harbor Maine, Sarah are happily re purposing vintage furniture at her shop Second Chance. Together with her lovable cat and trusted employees, Mac who is a Mister fix it and is a private person and her grandmother, Rose and her grandmother's friend, Charlotte and a student named Avery along with her grand mother, Liz.

The employees of Second Chance have made their own make shift detective group called "Charloette's Angels" and have set up shop within Sarah's shop. They have already solved a murder and think they could do it again when there's a soon to be new development on the town's waterfront. Sarah is on the fence on whether to let "the angels" do their investigating and Sarah wonders if yet again she will get suckered in. Nick who is the investigator for the  Medical Examiner and child hood love of Sarah is the grand son of Charlotte does not want any of them involved when Lily who was discovered by Sarah , who ran the bakery is murdered after she refused to sell her bakery in order for the new development to go forward and also trying to discover a trickster who was playing pranks on Lily in her bakery while she was alive.

It soon becomes a tangled web of secrets and lies with secret investors and more suspects and Now it's up to Sarah who feels she was suckered in once again while keeping a watchful eye over "the angels" while they try to find a killer and a prankster.

You can't help but love these fun loving seniors that are a part of "The Angels". The characters are well developed. I would love to have any one of them for my grandmother. All the characters including Sarah and especially the Jeopardy ! loving, lie detecting cat named Elvis help out when solving these crimes and it adds a touch of whimsy. I love how descriptive of a writer Sofie Ryan is and as you read you feel like you are there. This is such a perfect mystery for cat lovers and fans of vintage items. The characters in this story including Elvis are unforgetable.

The beauty of this small close knit town was also not to be forgotten and these heartwarming characters that live there. It speaks highly to me that the writer has a well developed characters, a well thought out mystery making this book a total winner. I can't wait to continue my adventures with Sarah, Elvis and "The Angels" in the next book in this series.
