Losing your mother at  a tender age should not happen to any child especially in a brutal way like Angie had to endure. No child should have to go through. When her mother's body is found in a storage locker in the freezer of the the town of Haven Harbor, Maine. Angie comes back to her hometown of Maine after a call from her grandmother. After working for a Private Investigator Angie wants to track down her mother's killer and bring him to justice.

Angie soon discovers nothing in her little hometown is the same including her grandmother with her running her Mainely Needlepoint business where she and a few friends make needlepoint pieces. Angie struggles to fit in to her hometown again if she ever did in the first place. At the same time Angie's gram has issues with a named Jacques Lattimore. After scamming Mainely Needlepoint  out of a substantial amount of money after he took over business operations Gram asks Angie to try to find Lattimore to try to get their money back.

Angie finds Lattimore and brings him back to Maine, while meeting with Gram and the rest of the Mainely Needlepointers after Lattimore gives them part of the money he owed he suddenly falls ill and dies in Grams bathroom. When the police reveal to Angie and Gram that it was in fact murder, Angie takes it upon herself to try to find the reason he died and the person who did it along with her mother's murderer after nineteen years.

A tender, heartwarming mystery. You can help but feel for Angie and her sorrows of her past. I found myself rooting for Angie to find her mother's and Lattimore's killer to bring her some closure. I felt Angie's pain through the author Lea Wait's words.  Powerful, unforgettable Characters. Angie and her Gram are the picture of survival through ther break and betrayal. This book left me soul searching about how short life is and how much I treasure my mother. You don't have to be a fan of needlepoint to enjoy this character driven story but I did enjoy learning more about needlepoint and Gram's business. I can't wait to see what's in store for Angie and Gram in THREAD OF EVIDENCE, the next in the series.

Caitlin Hart loves animals, She and her aunt Maggie live on Madrona Island off the coast of Washington State. She owns a lovable dog named Max and helps her aunt run a Cat Sanctuary on her property where they foster feral and lost cats until they are able to go to forever homes. Cait and her best friend, Tara go to the bank to try to acquire a loan to open "Coffee Cat Books "A coffee/book shop and Cait also has ideas on putting the cat sanctuary cats on display for adoption.

While going to check out what was once the islands "Cannery" and the new home of "Coffee Cat Book" Cait and Tara stumble upon the body of a member of the island council. With a proposal of new homes on the island needing to be voted on the whole island is on pins and needles with people for and against the project. It is revealed that the council member is murdered.

On top of all this a cat named Romeo has followed Cait home, she welcomes the cat into the cat sanctuary but worries about her neighbor, Francine. Francine owns a show cat, Juliet (how ironic is that name?) and does not want any of the cat sanctuary cats wandering onto her property. But being the sneaky cat he is Romeo finds his way to Juliet and mayhem between neighbours ensues. Aunt Maggie has not been well for some time and ventures off to Seattle to the doctor, with that and wanting to help solve the murder Cait has alot more that cat food on her plate.

Kathi Daley's characters are real, down to earth and you always want to be their friend. Cait like Zoe in her Zoe Donovan Mysteries was no exception. There's a real sense of Community on Madrona Island, Kathi's writing makes you want to visit where she intends to take you with her writing style she fully captures the picturesque scenes as the play out in my mind while I was reading. Being a cat lover I knew this book and this series was for me but you don't need to be a animal fan to enjoy it. Cait's impulsive and often nervousness around a certain man who works at the bank was comical and he interactions with her neighbor Francine in dealing with the cats put a smile on my face. Great start to a brand new series.

Perfect mystery for foodies. Food descriptions that have your mouth watering. The chefs were very dynamic and dramatic characters and kept this story alive wanting to know if any of them could have killed their fellow chefs in such brutal ways. As always the killer was someone you least expected but I had feelings of sorrow and heartbreak for. Romance is also in the air for a certain someone in Inspiration Valley and it had me literally in tears . This book was on my to be read list for awhile but so glad I finally took the time to read it, It is also a favorite series of mine so I'm working on reading them all so make it yours too.

It is no secret this is a favorite series of mine and I find it hard to find the words to describe how much I love it. "When you marry a gay man, it shouldn't come as a surprise when he leaves you" . The first  line from Feta Attraction had me hooked until the end and I knew I would love this book. I was right because I could not put it down. I read it at every opportunity.

The Bonaparte House is a Greek restaurant and a beautiful, notable, and historic home to the Nikolopatos family where Georgie, wife to Spiro runs and manages the place. I would be remiss not to mention Sophie, Spiro's mother who is the owner and matriarch of the family and quite a spunky Greek old woman.

Spirio has ventured out yet again on another one of his romps leaving Georgie to run the restaurant. With Gerogie being used to being left alone she thinks nothing of it until her husband is gone longer than usual. She begins to worry, but now having to deal with a reality TV show, Ghost Squad coming in to investigate supposed paranormal activity in the house by her husband.

Georgie takes a scenic boat ride with friend, Keith Morgan but along the way Georgie spots the body of rival restaurant owner Domenic "Big Dom" DiTomasso floating in the water, she tries to save him but realizes it's too late.

With Spiro missing and "Big Dom's" discovery of being murdered. Georgie literally has a lot on her plate and with her being suspect number one she is determined to find her husband and a killer but she soon finds out it's all connected.

Twists and turns abound in this first in a series called Feta Attraction. You cannot but help but love Georgie and her quirky mother-in-law, Sophie. The restaurant setting and the unconventional marriage of Georgie and Spiro have you wanting to say "opa" more than once. On the edge of your seat, Georgie never stopped and with never a dull moment. You feel like your right in the middle of the action, fast pased , It had me wanting and waiting for a second book in this adventurous new series and wanting to find out what's in store for all these dynamic characters.
